Stefan Wirth Joins CECD as Research Associate
College Park, MD, June 1, 2013
CECD is pleased to announce that Stefan Wirth has joined CECD as a research associate. Stefan will be involved in building up a new and permanent synthetic laboratory for synthesis of novel energetic materials at the University of Maryland. His research will focus on design and application of new Metal-Organic Frameworks.
Prior to joining CECD, Stefan received his PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Munich (LMU), Germany, under the guidance of Prof. I.-G. Lorenz. He spent several years working on the coordination of nitroso compounds to transitions metals complexes, which mainly implied metal-organic chemistry and organic synthesis. His Master’s and PhD theses both received the Dr. Klaus Römer-Foundation Award.
