Prof. Jim Short, Deputy Director of CECD, has been selected Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Energetic Materials. He is succeeding Dr. Paul Marinkas, who founded the journal 25 years ago and is retiring in December of 2008. Dr. Short has been directly involved in the journal and has served as an Editorial Board member.

The Journal of Energetic Materials provides an international forum for scientific and technical interchange in the disciplines of explosives, propellants, and pyrotechnics covering topics such as molecular orbital calculations, synthetic and analytical chemistry, formulation, ignition and detonation properties, thermal decomposition, hazards testing, biotechnology, and toxicological and environmental aspects of energetic materials production. It is a refereed publication published quarterly.
